Step 1 - Find the engine;
The first thing you need to do is to find the engine. Undo the sound cover so you can see the engine itself. Be sure to open enough panels to expose the shaft and drive. There should be a coupling between the gearbox and the shaft.
Step 2 - Clean;
If there is any grease or rust, use a hard wire brush to clean. You may need to do this a few times, brush the shaft repeatedly and you can reach it around. The grease coating will prevent the surface from rusting again in the future.
Step 3 - Remove the coupling;
Loosen the bolts that hold the coupling together. If you're working hard to do this, you can use a wrench to secure it to the shaft and prevent it from moving. Open the coupler and use a brush to clean any debris from both halves. Make sure both inner surfaces are clean.
Step 4 - Replace the coupling;
It is now necessary to reassemble the coupling. Make sure it is assembled so that the groove will accommodate the ridge. These two halves need to be tightened until you can get inside the .015 gauge. Try and make the gap equal and not applicable to any difference greater than .004 inches.
Step 5 - Adjust the engine;
The installation and transmission of the assault boat should now be adjusted to meet the same measurement specifications. If the gap is too large, then this can move the engine, which is why focus on the size of the gap.
Now tighten all bolts and reconnect the coupling bolts. If the coupling bolt is damaged or rusted, replace it with a new one. Finally, the engine was started and installed correctly without hearing any vibration.
